The "classic" week-long visit actually covers 8 days - for example from Monday to Monday or Saturday to Saturday. The start day is variable, as we try to avoid going in and out of Madrid during the Sunday evening rush-hour and on Bank Holidays. In addition to the week-long visit we can accommodate shorter or longer stays. At quieter times of the season we can sometimes provide single days for people staying locally.
All our groups are small, with 3-6 visitors. This ensures that there is plenty of space and attention for everyone.
Group size: 3-6 guests
Airport transfers from Madrid on day of arrival and return to airport the following week. Madrid has connections with more than 10 UK airports.
6 full days in the field (from Tuesday to Sunday, for example, for a Monday arrival). Flight times permitting, we should be able to add in a little time in the field on the inward and outward trips too.
Accommodation in a very comfortable hotel or casa rural. Twin bedded rooms with en-suite.
All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Breakfast is usually continental style or buffet. Lunch is either picnic or at a local restaurant. Dinner in the hotel or restaurant. We pay a lot of attention to the quality of the meals as this is part of the enjoyment of the trip. You will taste various excellent wines.
Personal attention - as the maximum group size is 6, we offer very individualised service. We will endeavour to adapt the programme to cover particular needs and interests provided this is OK for other group members.
Documentation on the birds of Extremadura is provided including a checklist of birds we are likely to see.
